TouroCOM Harlem

The Diversity Task Force is a committee composed of a group of students who plan education and outreach events that promote the diversity of our student body. The Diversity Task Force brings in speakers who discuss issues surrounding diversity and inclusion in medicine and help to educate TouroCOM students and faculty on a variety of topics, including those of religious, ethnic, and socioeconomic groups that we may one day serve as physicians. Importantly, the Diversity Task Force also serves as an advocacy group for students who feel underrepresented within the Touro community. 

Purpose of the Committee: 

1. To plan education and outreach events that promote the diversity of the student body and further embrace that of our surrounding community. 

2. To discuss issues of diversity in medicine and help to educate our students and faculty on a variety of religious, ethnic, and socioeconomic groups that we may one day serve as physicians. 

3. To serve as an advocacy group for students who feel underrepresented within the Touro community. “Serving our TouroCOM family in promoting the diversity that is beautifully seen here. “
